Proma is proudly celebrating 15 years of doing business in 2008, proving that companies can still be successful while being personal and grounded. The company was founded on the principles of providing superior products with genuine personalized service and has enjoyed a resounding success with this approach since its inception in 1993. Proma creates lasting relationships with customers by supporting their business with exceptional value and unmatched loyalty. “We are with them from sale and delivery, to installation and beyond; personally providing support where needed.” says Eric Broggi, president of Proma. “If our customers are successful, then we are successful.” Proma offers a refreshing approach in a market where consolidation and large, impersonal corporate cultures have been the recent trend. Proma’s longevity and success is a testament to this philosophy, the company’s exceptional people and technology, and the loyalty customers have given it over the years. Through a steadfast commitment to the founder’s timeless vision, the company looks forward as a true market leader, changing the way business is conducted in the tile and stone industry now and into the future.

In 1993, Mr. Gianni Broggi had a vision to create a tile and stone installation materials manufacturer that conducted business differently than companies already in the market. A growing trend of consolidation, big corporate cultures and impersonal service was on the rise, eroding the personal service and support he felt was important to achieving positive, long-lasting results on projects. “Tile and stone is a large investment so proper installation and a company that stands by you before and after the sale is paramount for success.” says the founder. “This is what Proma does and what’s at the core of the company’s character.” Mr. Broggi was an adhesive production specialist with years of product knowledge and experience. Together with his family, he put this experience to work by introducing several new revolutionary products for tile and stone installation under the brand Proma.

Exceptional product quality and the personal manner for which the company serviced customers generated tremendous interest and demand. The company soon grew to meet these increasing demands by adding the best people to support the line, additional production capacity and more high-quality products. Several of these offerings helped Proma become an industry leader, which include: Pro Bond/Pro Bond Plus, two-part premium mortar system; Pro Flex, polymer-modified thin-set mortar; Pro Quick, rapid-setting thin-set mortar; and Pro Patch cement-based patching compound. All of these products gained a good following, but the introduction of Pro P-151 proved to be the one product that really made the industry stand up and take notice. The incredible quality, application characteristics and value of Pro P-151 helped it explode in popularity with installers, and inspired copy-cat products from other companies trying to catch up. Even today, the incredible popularity of the product and faithfulness of its users make it the anchor of Proma’s extensive product line.

Today, Proma offers one of the broadest and highest quality product lines available to the market for tile and stone installation, and a support team that is second to none. Many of Proma’s loyal, talented employees have been with the company for years contributing valuable experience, consistency and stability. A network of quality suppliers also contribute to Proma’s success by providing premium materials, exceptional service and support, and innovative ideas. And the veteran-only Proma sales team combines for over 120 years of experience in the tile and stone industry giving the company a distinct advantage over its competitors.

Eric James Broggi (the founder’s son) leads Proma today and into the future through a steadfast commitment to his father’s vision combined with continuous improvement, investment into the success of the company and its customers, and a pledge of environmental responsibility. “Green permeates all that we do at Proma, from operations to product development and beyond.” says Mr. Broggi. Many of the company’s products also contribute valuable LEED points to green building projects.

Proma is a family owned and run business with a family approach to doing business “We are a professional-only manufacturer; personally committed to our customers … we don’t dumb-down our products, sell home centers or our customer’s next door neighbor.” says Mr. Broggi. “This approach is really catching on as distributors, contractors and architects are contacting us daily to learn more about us.” The market is catching on too, as reaction to the Proma Philosophy has been nothing short of extraordinary and signals a bright outlook for the company’s next 15 years.

With a proven track record of excellence and an unmatched devotion to customers, Proma has become the manufacturer of choice for tile installation products in Canada and the northeast United States. As the company continues to grow, look for Proma to set new standards for doing business in the tile and stone industry … today and into the future.
